elongo, ēlongo, āvi, ātum, 1, v. a. and n. e-longe. Act., to remove, keep aloof (late Lat.): auxilium tuum a me, Vulg. Psa. 21, 20: judicium a nobis, id. Isa. 59, 9 al.

To prolong, protract: diem ejus, Vulg. Isa. 14, 1; cf. elongo, μακρύνω, ἀφίστημι, Gloss. Philox.
