Monumenta Germaniae Historica
This corpus now contains all currently available texts from dMGH (digital Monumenta Germaniae Historica), freely available here. The format of the raw TEI files (one file per MGH volume) has been adapted for compatibility with Corpus Corporum. This required creating one TEI file per text, adding author names in Latin and VIAF-numbers, the introduction of a hierarchical div-structure, as well as minor changes in format (for instance regarding line breaks). This process produced 407 texts from 134 authors (plus the very busy "author" "Anonymus") out of 140 MGH volumes. The new files were renamed in the form: number (e.g. from bsb00000614.zip to "614_...") underscore, author name, underscore text name, e.g. 615_Bruno-Merseburgensis_Saxonicum-bellum.xml. As usually, our TEI files can be downloaded and reused from this site. The German language texts were not included (11 volumes).
We thank Monumenta Germaniae Historica (MGH) and Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München (BSB) for making these important texts freely digitally available.
